Another Summer is Winding Down

As yet another summer is winding down, we would like to extend our thanks to our summer customers and wish them a warm and healthy winter. We hope to be able to provide you with your transportation needs next summer.

With school opening in just a few weeks, our staff is working hard to make sure we have all of the details in order for a safe and enjoyable school year. Please realize that we take our job of providing student transportation services very seriously, and we realize the importance of the task at hand and will do everything to maintain and build on the trust and pride that we have built over the past years in the community.

In the beginning of the school year your child will be bringing home some safety related material. Please take the time to review this material with your child. Additionally, our staff will be conducting several safety sessions with the children both on and off the bus, and in some cases in the classroom. A safe transportation program is achieved through the cooperative efforts of the bus company, the school district, the parents, the children and the community at large. We will do our part in this endeavor and will assist you and your child in doing yours.

Below we have listed some important tips to help you and your child have safe and uneventful transportation to and from school each day.

1. Children should wait at the bus stop 5 minutes before the bus arrives. Running to the bus can create unneeded hazards.

2. Children should not enter the roadway until the red warning lights of the bus are Flashing, and the stop sign is out.

3. If a child needs to cross the street, please make sure he waits for the driver’s signal.

4. If a child drops something outside of the bus they should know “DO NOT PICK IT UP and DO NOT RE-ENTER THE ROADWAY” tell the driver, or an adult to retrieve the object.

5. Make sure children know to look for a familiar adult when getting off the bus, if the child isn’t sure, the child should let the driver know, in this case the driver can keep the child safe on the bus, until a parent/guardian or school official can be located.
